BuddyPress Auto Join Groups is a fantastic tool for site administrators that streamlines the process of adding members to groups automatically. You can set up one or more lists for automatic group joining based on specific criteria, and any user who meets those criteria will be enrolled in the designated groups. This plugin allows for both global lists and conditional lists.
A global list is simply a collection of groups that any user can join without any specific conditions. Every new user who signs up will automatically be added to the groups included in these lists. And yes, you can create several global group lists if you wish!
On the other hand, a conditional list requires you to define one or more criteria based on the user’s profile information or member type. Users who meet these criteria will be automatically included in the groups specified in that list. If a user qualifies for multiple lists, they will be added to all corresponding groups.
Within the plugin settings, you have the flexibility to decide when to check if a user matches the list. The options available include “when a user activates their account,” “when a user registers,” “when a user updates their profile,” and “when the member type is updated.”
